Malice's Book Excerpt #3 from Malice of the Clipse on Vimeo.

The Silversmith

Some time ago, a few ladies met to study the scriptures. While reading the third chapter of Malachi, they came upon a remarkable expression in the third verse:

"And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver" (Malachi 3:3).

One lady decided to visit a silversmith, and report to the others on what he said about the subject.

She went accordingly, and without telling him the reason for her visit, begged the silversmith to tell her about the process of refining silver. After he had fully described it to her, she asked, "Sir, do you sit while the work of refining is going on?"

"Oh, yes ma'am," replied the silversmith; "I must sit and watch the furnace constantly, for, if the time necessary for refining is exceeded in the slightest degree, the silver will be injured."

The lady at once saw the beauty and comfort of the expression, "He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

God sees it necessary to put His children into the furnace; but His eye is steadily intent on the work of purifying, and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best manner for us. Our trials do not come at random, and He will not let us be tested beyond what we can endure.

Before she left, the lady asked one final question, "How do you know when the process is complete?"

"That's quite simple," replied the silversmith. "When I can see my own image in the silver, the refining process is finished."

Time Machine

Love, never knew what it was till I was with her, a feeling you think will never end, nothing else seems to bother you anymore, because its endless happiness. The most comforting feeling, ill never forget her smell, the way she kisses, her birth marks, her phrases, the way she said my name, and her touch, yea I tend to reminisce because its hard to move on when you always regret one, that's cole right. I was young and wasn't as wise as I am now, if I could do it again, I would, I would probably end up going to Jarred or something.

Elementary

No stress, mothers woke us up and got us dressed, filled our tummies before we fled the nest, made sure we didn't miss the school bus, told us everything we needed to know so strangers wouldn't fool us. The good old days, when we had our first crush, teased that one girl so she would never see you blush, I'm giving yall too much, no money in your pocket just a lunch number and a brush, the world ended when you came back from lunch to notice someone stole all your pokemon cards, yea life was hard.

Letter to Yeezy

Dear kanye West

I used to be your biggest fan, first time I heard you I was on the city bus with my cousin, we were on our way to south beach, yea we was about 16 years old at the time on our first adventure lol. He popped that college droupout into that sony cd player and that was it. I always remember that day because we met russell simmons randomly infront of a hotel, he was on the cell phone " tell run to meet me at the airport".
I started to dress like you, reciting your rhymes in class, recomending your music. You used to walk with Jesus, that token blackie at the gap,you made it cool to drop out of college to follow your dreams, the unsigned producer who used to stay in his room all summer making beats, soul beats that lifted the youth. "When it feel like living's harder than dyin For me, giving up's way harder than tryin
Lauryn Hill said her heart was in Zion I wish her heart still was in rhymin Cause who the kids gon' listen to????" But who am I to judge, I don't even know you, we miss the old you, seems like there's no more soul in your music, yea that was a crappy deal alright. I was listening to one of your new songs, and at the end you said you crossed the line and you'll let God decide. I pray you one day see the light again.

Do i make sense to you.

The youths mind is polluted and diluted, how can we and as we I mean our generation lend a helping hand, when on our own we can't even stand, what's going on isn't going wrong, it was already written, but as people we can't follow rules, as american we follow elephants and mules, forced to go to school to learn things we will never use, when God has already gifted us with tools, so now that young boy that listens to watered down music looks in the mirror and doesn't see a fool, but all the flesh he has left to get tattoos, he's been brainwashed, and the young beautiful princess wants to be reffered to as a plastic doll, with no essential values, we go cashews cause cash rules, is this how its suppoesed to be,supposbly.
